Rappaport, Series Editor for Prentice Hall's Communications Engineering & Emerging Technologies Series, founded Virginia Polytechnic University's Mobile and Portable Radio Research Group and is Chairman of Wireless Valley Communications. He authored the widely used textbook Wireless Communications: Principles and Practice, Second Edition. He holds the James S. Tucker Professorship at Virginia Tech.
