Abhishek Dubey attended the Air Force School, New Delhi, and went on to do his BA and MA in History from Hansraj College. His work on gender studies in Delhi University was widely acclaimed and extensively covered in the local press. A freelancer since his college days, he used to write feature, political and sports articles for various journals. Abhishek began his journalistic career formally with NDTV. At NDTV, he covered some of the most successful sports shows like the Olympics 2004 and Chunautee 2004−06. In order to concentrate on sports, he left NDTV and joined IBN7, where he was soon made the sports editor.
In 2007, when India won the inaugural T20 World Cup in South Africa, Abhishek covered the tournament for his channel. After this, T20 cricket in general and the private league in particular became his area of special interest and study. He broke many stories related to the making of and problems in the league, and this work of his is an effort in the same direction. A regular contributor on sports issues in different magazines and newspapers, Abhishek is also on the guest faculty of various media institutes.
