Pankaj Jalote is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He was formerly Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Maryland, Colege Park, where he also had a joint appointment with the Institute of Advanced Computer Studies. Dr. Jalote received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. From 1996 to 1998, he was Vice President (Quality) at Infosys Technologies Ltd., an India-based IT service company providing software solutions worldwide. Dr. Jalote has written two previous books and about 50 articles.
