An excellent text book with challenging exercise and MATLAB problems. Fundamentals are covered very nicely. I used this text book to teach Analog Communication for fourth semester Electronics and Communication students of NITK Surathkal, during 2008-2009. Very big advantage of using this text book is, students will be using the books authored by Proakis to learn Digital communication and Digital Signal Processing in their future courses. So they feel comfortable in style, notation, concept, etc.
