" The ACE of soft skills" is a book that integrates the skills of Attitude , communication and Etiquette. It takes one into the journey of developing these abstract skills using well designed illustrations and examples. The book exhibits a practical approach in developing the soft skills and hence can be easily implemented in day to day life. The combination of concepts and skills is the need of the hour and this book paves way not only in buliding a healthy work atmosphere but also building strong relationships. ACE is a must read book to win the RACE.

What caught my attention apart from the title of the book under review is the Foreword written from the industry perspective by Ajay Chowdhry, Founder-HCL, and a second one written by Bala Balachandran, J.L.Kellog Distinguished Professor Emeritus, from the perspective of academia. Ajay Chowdhry writes, “We in the corporate sector want the students to be ‘industry ready’.

By that I mean that they should be able to get into a job and be able to contribute right from day one —-they should hit the road running. That is not happening today. The main ingredient missing in the making of a perfect professional is that of non-existence of what goes by the generic term ‘soft skills’.

This is a book from Real World Managers talking about Real World problems and their Real World Solutions. How convenient that the skills which actually get you ahead in life are all here in a succinct capsule form. A 6 month soft skills course can easily be built around the contentsThe illustrations on the silent language of success, namely Body Language are apt and telling. Overall a brilliant first effort. Seems to be an ideal book for people who do not understand what soft skills are all about. The TOC looks very appealing.
