Sibsankar Haldar has obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Automation from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. He was a visiting scientist/scholar at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, Utrechet Universiy, the Netherlands, Ecole Polytechnic, France, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, India, and Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India. After spending a decade in academics, he changed his career and moved to Industry. He worked at various roles at Axes Technologies, Bangalore, India, Nortel Networks, Canada, and Lucent Technologies Bell-Laboratories, USA. He is currently with Motorola, Sunnyvale, USA, and he develops software for cellphones. He has extensive experience in theoretical computer science research and software development. His research and development work has been focused on distributed computing, operating system, and database systems. He has taught courses in databases and operating systems.
