K. A. Krishnamurthy received his BE (1967) in Electrical Engineering from NIE, Mysore; M.Tech. (1972) in Industrial Electronics from Surathkal; and Ph.D. (1978) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He joined Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan in 1967 rose to the rank of Professor (and Head) of Electronics & Communication Engineering in 1979 and assumed the office of Principal in 1997. He was Visiting Fellow at the University of Manitoba, Canada during 1981-84, and consulting Professor at Asea Brown Boveri, Switzerland in 1988-89. He is a recipient of the UP State National Award (ISTE), JC Bose Memorial Gold Medal (IETE), The Best Citizen Award, Distinguished Leadership Award (USA), Mother Theresa Award. Presently, he is the Dean of the Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgaum, Karnataka State. His research interests are in the areas of Digital Electronics, Power Electronics and microprocessor-based instrumentation. He has 3 books and over 80 research publications in journals of national and international repute.
